About our chef
Chef Jill
We call her
"JillBilly"
Humane Society Event Brochure Comments
Jill has been the executive chef for the Painted Lady since its opening in 2000. She has created the Victorian tea room’s menu of homemade soups, daily quiche specials and an array of scones and tea breads. She has perfected the My Lady’s Chicken Salad and tomato bisque soup that are the Painted Lady’s top sellers. Her unique twist on a variety of scones and tea breads have made the restaurant a popular destination. She pairs the extensive tea selections of the restaurant with foods that compliment the distinct flavors such as green tea and tropical scones, a mixture that includes toasted coconut, Mandarin oranges, pineapple and crunchy pecans or African rooibos tea with lemon tea bread and lemon curd. Jill is also know by the restaurant for the lunches and dinners that feature Southern “comfort” foods that are totally made-from-scratch. Her light as a feather, flaky buttermilk biscuits melt in your mouth. A natural born cook hailing from West Virginia, she is affectionately nicknamed “Jillbilly.” She is jovial and noted for her one-liner jokes that are referred to as “Jill-isms.” Jill is married and has two children and will become a grandmother in May. We appreciate all that Jill has contributed to the Painted Lady.
